Privacy Policy
Agla Qadam ("we", "us") helps students in Pakistan explore merit, universities, scholarships and test preparation. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It covers the Agla Qadam mobile app, this website, and the beta testing programme. It does not cover any other app or site you reach through a link on Agla Qadam.
Summary
- We collect only what you provide or what your device needs to make the product work: account and profile information, beta form answers, and basic device/app diagnostics.
- We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help run the app and site (for example auth, hosting, analytics, crash reporting) and only as described below.
- You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data, and you can delete your app account in Settings.
- Beta participation is voluntary and separate from any future store listing.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the operator of Agla Qadam. Until a launch entity and registered address are confirmed, contact us at the email set in NEXT_PUBLIC_CONTACT_EMAIL on this site. When that variable is published, the clickable "Get in touch" link in the footer becomes the authoritative contact.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account: name, email, password (hashed), and — where you choose it — Google or Apple sign-in identifiers. Optional profile fields you fill inside the app.
- Beta application: whatever you submit on the Google Form at docs.google.com/forms/d/e/…/viewform (for example name, email, institution, city, device type). That form is hosted by Google and governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.
- Support and feedback: messages, attachments, and feedback you send us.
Information collected automatically
- App and device: app version, OS and device model, language, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and — when you allow it — push-token.
- Merit inputs: marks and selections you enter to calculate an aggregate. These stay on device except where you explicitly save a profile; where stored server-side they are tied to your account.
- Website: standard server or CDN logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) and the local browser event
aglaqadam:downloadfired when you tap a store button. This site does not load third-party analytics by default.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, or financial information in the beta. If a future feature needs a new category of data, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
How we use it
- To create and sign you in, provide the app's features (merit calculation, university and scholarship browsing, test prep, career guide), and keep your saved profile in sync.
- To run the beta: review applications, invite testers, distribute builds via Google Play internal testing / TestFlight or an APK link, collect feedback, and prioritise fixes.
- To keep the service secure and reliable: prevent abuse, debug crashes, and measure performance.
- To answer support requests and, where you have consented, to send product updates related to Agla Qadam. You can opt out of non-essential messages any time.
Legal bases
Where consent is required we rely on your consent. Otherwise we process personal information to perform our contract with you (providing the app and beta you asked for), to pursue legitimate interests (improving and securing the service), or to comply with law.
Sharing
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contracts that limit use to our instructions: hosting and content delivery (for example Vercel for this website), authentication and backend (for example Firebase / Google Cloud), distribution and diagnostics for beta builds, and — only if enabled in future — analytics and crash reporting.
- Authorities where disclosure is required by Pakistani law or a valid legal request.
- Business changes: in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to you where required.
We do not share beta or app data with advertisers as an independent controller. If we add advertising in future, this section and the consent experience will be updated first.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside Pakistan (including on servers in the United States or EU). Where required, we rely on contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and on the provider's published commitments.
Retention
- Account and profile: while your account is active and for a short period afterwards to allow recovery.
- Beta forms and feedback: while the beta programme runs and for up to 12 months after it closes, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Logs and diagnostics: typically 30–90 days, longer where needed to investigate abuse or an incident.
You may ask us to delete your information sooner (see Your rights). We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed and no law requires us to keep it.
Your rights and choices
- Access, correct, or update your profile in the app.
- Request a copy of your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Delete your account inside the app (Settings → Delete account) or by emailing us. Where you joined the beta via the Google Form, you can also manage or delete your response in Google Forms for as long as Google retains it.
- Manage cookies on this website through your browser settings. The site sets only strictly necessary cookies for hosting/security.
We will respond within 30 days. If your request is complex we may extend once and will explain why.
Children
Agla Qadam is intended for students who are at least 13 years old (and of an age that can validly consent under applicable law). If you are under that age, please use the app only with a parent or guardian and do not submit personal information without their permission. If we learn we have collected information from such a person without appropriate permission, we will delete it.
Security
We use transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls, and we limit employee access to personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device and credentials safe and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Changes
We will update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes and, where changes are material, give you additional notice inside the app or by email. Your continued use after an update means you have accepted the revised policy.
Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints: use the contact email shown in the site footer once NEXT_PUBLIC_CONTACT_EMAIL is configured, or write to the legal contact shown in the app settings after launch. You may also lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
